ABOUT
Dutch-born Evelin van Rei is a London and Amsterdam-based self-taught photographer and cinematographer working at the intersection of film, art, and photography.Guided by instinct and emotion, her visual language is shaped by a deep sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and the human condition, body and psyche. Her photography evokes the poetic and tenebrous qualities of painting — visceral, textured, and quietly macabre — leaving a lingering sense of intimacy and presence.
As a cinematographer, Evelin creates authentic, authored films, television series, commercials, and music videos, bringing a strong visual sensibility and signature to every project she undertakes.
She is a full member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the Netherlands Society of Cinematographers, and received the Angénieux Special Encouragement Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
